Dance Hula Hoops
Dance hula hoops are my absolute favorite style of hoop to play with. Ever since I started hooping I have enjoyed dancing around with these just for fun, and sometimes I even come up with choreographed routines. Not so much anymore though. There's just less time for that once you have responsibilities. But I do still like to play with them. And ever since I got into working out via my hobby, my love for them has just about doubled. Which, for anyone tha knows me, is certainly a bold claim in itself!

As far as fitness goes, I have a weighted hoop or two. Or three. Or possibly a collection. Those are a great way to exercise, but variety is the spice of life, as they say. So, sometimes I do mix things up by using one of my dance hula hoops instead. If you really get a rhythm going, they can be just as good for getting the heart rate up. Especially if you're into it like I am.
Now, when it comes to dancing, that is exactly what dance hula hoops were meant for. When I had more time to actually put work into routines, I used to be able to spin them around from my head all the way down my body. I could get them to travel down an outstretched arm or leg just as easily too. It was a lot of fun. Sure, it was hard work. But I never saw it as thay since I've always enjoyed it so much.
I love to dance and to move my body. I'm not sure what came first, a love for just dancing, or the love of doing it as a side effect of dance hula hoops. Whatever it was, I 'm glad it turned out that way. It's so much fun now. I remember when I used to shimmy around till dawn back in my wild, club days. I started going when I was just barely old enough to get in. I think we all have those crazy years. I've settled down a lot since then. I can't even imagine staying out that late any more. Nope, all I want to do nowadays is party with my dance hula hoops at home and go to bed by midnight. It's the repercussions of being out of college and having a respectable job. If you have to be up early, then you have to get to sleep early too. And there's less time for everything that you really want to do.
That's probably another reason that I enjoy this so much. It's something that I want to do that I still have time for each and every day. You can't say that about everything. If you love playing baseball or going fishing or something like that then you can only do it every so often because you need to schedule it. But if I want to be free for a little bit, and play with something that I've been into since I was a teenager all I have to do is pull put one of my dance hula hoops, and be carefree for half an hour.
